OBEX enjoys making good on its Good Price, Better Service promise to support clients with high-quality, competitively-priced concrete moisture control systems such as Creteseal CS2000 and the Creteseal MAX System. Concrete moisture control system installations vary widely, and we thought it might be helpful to highlight some of the various projects OBEX and our OBEX Certified Installer (OCI) partners have recently completed.
Over the summer and early fall of 2019, OBEX’s Creteseal MAX concrete moisture control system was chosen to support the completion of a luxury residential garage application. This unique and interesting 8,000 SF project entailed application of the Creteseal MAX System, and shortly thereafter, within the Creteseal MAX recoat window, a compatible decorative epoxy system was applied over the top of the Creteseal MAX System. The final result was a concrete moisture control protected, beautiful decorative epoxy finished floor that had everyone on the project “ooh-ing and ahh-ing.”
Beginning in the fall of 2019 and concluding in the spring of 2020, OBEX completed a 200,000 SF, multi-pour installation of the Creteseal CS2000 Day-of-Pour (DoP) moisture control system at a Veterans Administration (VA) facility in San Antonio, TX. OBEX is proud to work on a facility that will ultimately support our military veterans. With the use of Creteseal CS2000, OBEX provided the kind of cost-effective, value-engineered solution that all Owners, Architects and Prime contractors look for when putting projects together. It’s a group effort and we were happy to support the project’s concrete moisture control scope.
In early 2020, the OBEX Creteseal MAX System was chosen as the cost-effective retrofit concrete moisture control solution on a retail space just outside Miami, FL, which is being renovated into a Ross Dress for Less. The 25,000 SF slab-on-deck was evaluated by our OCI after Relative Humidity moisture testing came back high. Subsequent discussions with the General Contractor resulted in a decision to install the Creteseal MAX System, using both skim cementitious and self-level cementitious to keep project costs down. OBEX’s OCI completed preparation of the floor on Friday with shot-blasting and crack-chasing. After carefully cleaning and vacuuming the slab, OBEX’s Perfect Patch polyurea was applied to all cracks and control joints. Over the weekend, the Creteseal MAX coating was installed, followed by a non-porous primer and the cementitious products. First thing Monday morning, the General Contractor/Flooring Installer were presented with a protected concrete substrate ready for resilient flooring installation.
